When you’re in the right career or vocation, you just know. That certainly rings true for Katie Breberg, who joined Paulsen as an account coordinator last month after earning her bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University.
Katie’s initial plan was to pursue a career in retail merchandising. But when she took a media course that addressed the psychology behind consumer decisions, it captured her imagination.
“That led me into the world of advertising,” she says, adding that she never really looked back on her educational journey. “I realized I was in the right place.”
In addition to a major in advertising, Katie earned minors in marketing, social media and communication studies during her time in Brookings.
She also worked as a marketing assistant for SDSU’s Ness School of Management and Economics. In that role, she took on a variety of responsibilities, from creating content for the department’s social media channels to managing its monthly newsletter to planning and executing live event coverage.
“Katie brings a well-rounded skill set to our team,” says Marcus Squier, VP, Client Services. “Our client work is anything but one-dimensional, so being able to adapt to a variety of different campaigns and business objectives is a welcome asset.”
Katie grew up in Dawson, Minnesota, before moving to Brookings for her undergraduate studies. She enjoys spending time outdoors, running and traveling to new places.
