Melisa Goss has joined Paulsen as Content Writer.
In this position, she works with the creative team in collaborating on strategy, concepts, copy and content for a wide variety of clients.
“We’re excited to have Melisa on board,” says Paulsen VP, Strategic Director Mark Smither. “She brings to the table a wealth of writing experience and creativity.”
“She actually joined us when most Paulsen employees were already working from home due to the COVID-19 outbreak,” he says. “She’s a great addition to the team—and we’re really looking forward to working with her in person someday.”
Melisa agrees. “It’s a weird time to start a job, but everyone on staff is really smart and genuine.”
“The client work is very interesting, and it focuses on issues and topics I really care about,” she adds.
Previously Melisa was senior creative coordinator at Midco and copywriter at Lawrence & Schiller, both in Sioux Falls. She was a Pulitzer Fellow on Crisis Reporting in 2013, spending several months in Cambodia learning and reporting on human trafficking in that country.
Melisa grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Sioux Falls, majoring in theology/philosophy and earned a master’s degree in journalism from South Dakota State University. Melisa and her husband have a young daughter and a dog. She enjoys reading, writing, traveling, hiking and is particularly skilled in meme-only communications.
